On May 7th at 6:00 PM, we invite you to join us at the Lombardini22 Hub, located at Via Elia Lombardini 13, for a discussion on the study and design of what we call extreme spaces.

What do we mean by extreme spaces?

They are environments that challenge fundamental human needs - where specific conditions compromise orientation, control, safety, and our connection with the outside world.
This is particularly evident in extraterrestrial environments, where factors such as the absence of gravity, confinement within limited survival spaces, and a lack of natural light create unique design demands.
Although these environments may seem extraordinary, they actually provide concrete knowledge that can be applied to the everyday spaces we inhabit here on Earth.
With Extreme Spaces, the goal is to build a platform for dialogue between architecture and neuroscience, capable of translating extreme conditions into practical design tools. The event aims to reflect on, interpret, and transfer the principles that shape spatial experience in critical contexts, in order to redefine criteria, methods, and responsibilities in contemporary design.

It is both a theoretical reflection and an operational step: using extreme conditions to bring design back to its primary function - supporting human cognitive, perceptual, and relational needs.

The event is free and open to everyone.

The event will be held in English.
Stay with us after the event for a drink and a chat.
